Huh. That’s a damn good question. Honestly, when I first started reading GF fics my answer might have been “more”, and it sort of still is. Back when I wqs reading the entire pinecest catalog of fics i just wanted more.
Probably 80% of those early fics were slice of life stuff. You never saw Gravity Falls characters making appearances. It was like if the show had a tv pilot years later for the drama filled teenage years and was trying to be a new thing. And that’s not a bad thing. It removrs the reader from one known experience and places them in another. School, work, etc. But the fantastical stuff got left behind.
I’d like more slice of life Pinecest fics, but gimme stand-alone aus, give me fantasy stuff.
I plan on givibg my readers A LOT more fantasy and sci fi stuff coming up. I have too much left to write.
@pinkpines has a phenomenal au that i promised half a dozen times to help eith but one thing or another keeps messing with my ability to do so. @asterism-pinoideae is also really great at sculpting a world for the twins that still has lots of mystery.
And @dddippinsauce has a wonderful take on “what happens after GF?”
I don’t think I adequately answered the question, but hopefully it was an interesting response.
So, now that I finally responded to that question. Anyone got anything else for me? I need to get in gear and do some writing and I figure maybe respinding to asks will help warm me up? Probably not, but ask anyway. No refunds.
I got an ask a while back that I wrote a poem to. I was proud of it, in part because it’s a style I never write in. I even managed to work in a Shakespearean sonnet at the end. But the person I answered apparently never got the response. And it never posted on my blog. It’s been sitting in my drafts for a while when I managed to recover 90% of it from my phone’s clipboard. The ending, however, is still lost, and that’s sad making. I decided I’d post the 90% that survived. I’ve thought about trying to recreate the lost ending, but I just don’t remember what I said and I think it would mess up the flow to try. The following answer isn’t intended as ship hate, but as the most creative way I could think of to answer a question.
C. A ship I’ve never liked and will never like.
I’ll gladly answer more questions. I was actually kinda waiting for this one.
Literally any Bill ship. Mabill, Billdip, Billford, Bill x anyone. I feel like getting dr. Seussian about it.
I will not ship it as a man, I will not ship it as a Pan. I will not ship a triangle, this is a fandom I refuse to mangle.
Making him a man or boy, to me seems like a lazy ploy.
Instead of using an original creation, I’m supposed to side with that abomination?
There’re so many better choices, I think you’ll agree, for the topic of a fanfic writing spree.
Soos is true, and good, and pure of Heart, his relationship with melody is a work of art.
McGucket is somewhat hard to rhyme, but I think if you just give me time; I can show you he’s a lonely guy, who dreams of catching his son’s eye. Why not write some fics about that? Or just have him chase a rat. Or better yet, try out some dignity, it’s what I aim for in my redemption of Giffany.
I will not ship him as a bishie, I will not ship him flat or squishy.
I will not ship him on a train, I will not let him in anyone’s brain. (For the purposes of shipping)
I will not ship him with Mabes or Dip, if I ever did, just empty the clip.
He’s a demon, he’s evil, and such a meanie. I’ll never let him play with old man weenie.
He’ll never roam free in the 3D dimension, unless I need to build some tension.
If you like it, that’s fine, whatever. Just remember thatI said never.
I will not tell you what you should be shipping. But you know which reblogs I’ll always be skipping.
Pinecest is pure, Pinecest is life (unless, of course, you are my wife)
But this I know, she’ll stand by me, on this I know we can agree.
So, dear reader, I think you’ll see, I have a fairly clear policy.
Do what you want, but I’ve said my peace. Or should that saying be said with “piece”?
Either way, I own the lease, of this particular blog, at least. So Goodnight, goodbye, I bid you adieu, so go and read a fic or two. Commenting and reblogging is nice to do, so if you want to do that too; it would really help me out, if you could just give me a shout. If you think my writing’s nice, “i loved it!” Is a good way to break the ice. But longer comments are even more welcome, it could inspire works yet to happen. So if you’ve some love, then give me some.
(((((This is where my writing cut off and was lost. Very sad I am about this.))))
