Dusting off an old saying

A while back someone in the Pinecest fandom posed a saying that could be used to figure out who among the fandom is also a sinful shipper. The phrase was based around the two biggest members of our community @pineneedleshurt and Doublepines (now @in-your-face-elizabeth) and went “Are you a friend of double?” with a response “Do pine needles hurt?” I always thought this was clever. Does anyone remember this though or has anyone successfully used it at like cons and what not. Spread the word as I am interested in who else remembers this.

It’s just a good a short hand as any

That person would be me. So, uh, I remember it.

Thank you for making up such a wonderful phrase, you are one of the many gems in this community. Have any luck using it out there?

Oh, wow, thank you so much. I haven’t, unfortunately. The time I went to con dressed as Stan, I thought about it, but nobody showed up for the photoshoot, and it was too hot to stay in costume.

You know what GF fic trope I love?

The twins go hiking, find some dumbass artifact that turns out to be magic or science, or magical science, and then stuff happens to them. Like one or both gain a power, or transform, or turn into a horny ghost….or, like, otter things. And I feel like it’s a super fun, super simple entryway into a story idea. If anyone is paying attention, I think calling that trope “Oh look, a Shiny!” Or OLAS.

I think it’s cute anyway.
