I’m not white, and I’m not even from the states, and as an outsider I can say, you people are erasing your own history. Yeah Germany doesn’t have monuments to the nazis, but they left every single concentration camp intact to remember, the Pollacks did the same with Auschwitz. Colombia Ecuador and Venezuela still have Spanish castles and slave hubs, and places to remember their dictators. And chile doesn’t have just one, it has 5 to Pinochet. Don’t forget your history, or you’ll end repeating it

The US has plenty of plantations left that serve as a memorial to the atrocities visited upon enslaved Africans; we don’t need a bunch of statues to memorialize those who fought to keep them enslaved.

Germany has the camps intact, but there are no statues to Rommel or the other Nazi generals. Likewise, since, y’know, books exist, I’m not sure why we need statues to “remember” those who defended a traitor nation and fought in favor of slavery.
