This is art. A masterpiece, actually.

A true American hero

the sound of that caution tape snapping tho

there goes… an american… hero… *teardropping*

Anyone who likes what this black man is doing doesn’t understand what that flag means.. it stands for a group of people that flight because they believed the government shouldn’t tell them what they can and can’t do… it had jack fucking shit to do with slavery (like 2%) in fact there are thousands of proud black men that would stand and hold that flag and have because they believed in what it stood for.. has it been stolen and used by red neck racists yes.. but that’s not the flags fault… it would be like blaming the swastika for being stolen and used by the nazi

Alright, listen here, you racist apologist. If someone walked around wearing a swastika today, you would 100% know it was about racism and antisemitism. And that there is the confederate battle flag. One of them anyway. It was NEVER a symbol of the confederacy, rather it was the flag that some of them waved while they were in active combat. The civil war and thus that flag was 100% about slavery.

You are a lying sack of shit if you say otherwise. “The war was fought over states rights.” The right to own slaves. That was the right. Lincoln even tried to compromise on that before the war, and his offer was turned down, the south ceceded, and declared war. Lincoln said it about slavery at the time, and so did the president and vice president of the confederacy. And jackson wouldn’t allow southern uniforms or flags at his funeral.

That flag is a symbol for hate. Non white people of today know that it’s a symbol of hate, and telling them otherwise, while waving it around, is the same as wearing the swastika you just defended.

And anyone who doesn’t like being told the truth can fucking unfollow me.

What is with the trope of strong girl characters (like teens and kids) growing up to be docile domestic housewives with no character substance/depth/personality whatsoever completely going against like everything they stood for and identified with when they were younger as if thats just what happens to women when they’re adults

Someone who has revolved their life around a set of hard morals and defining traits and characteristics from basically childhood to young adult hood isn’t just going to completely flip around because they got married or turned 30. this only ever happens to the girl characters. marriage might as well be the the equivalent of killing off a girl character because the second they’re married their personality disappears and they’re shoved off as a background character when they used to be a pivotal character in the series

it’s Bad Writing scoobs

It’s okay to have fictional characters do problematic stuff. Really, it is. Fictional characters are there to tell a story; not to be perfect paragons of virtue.

“Yeah!” some people will say. “It’s fine as long as you show that it’s problematic!”

And I’ll say: No. You don’t need to always do that either. We can’t expect writers to point out every moral misstep a character makes.

It’s okay to have characters do something problematic, and it’s okay to assume that the readers can see why it’s problematic on their own.

The number of notes on this that say “No, you have to moralize, because readers are stupid!”  is… disheartening. So what? We have to treat everyone like toddlers just in case someone happens to get the wrong idea about some fiction? If random fanfic (or any other semi-anonymous online content, for that matter) is a major determiner in someone’s life, they already have bigger problems than any fic could affect.

How about this: if someone pays me to write, they’ll get a say in what I write. As long as I’m writing for my own pleasure for free, I will write what I want.

Another suggestion: if you need moral guidance, stop reading fan fiction and turn to victorian children’s literature! Very helpful in encouraging good morals in the young!

get a load of this guy……. he gets ONE growth spurt and now he’s wearing all this jewelry…….

XD

Color me somewhere between Captain America and Drax for getting that reference quickly.

i meant to ask forever ago: what reference???? i wasn’t making a reference????

This guy is drax. He’s from Guardians of the Galaxy. I saw the pinetree hat on the tree, but I didn’t make the connection at first. I was like “wait, the yeti from Rudolph? Okay, weird. Whatever, she looks awesome, lemme hit like on that.” And then like, fully five minutes later it occurred to me what was going on. And I felt like sharing that shame for some reason.
