Me: It’s 2017, no one wants to hear Gravity Falls meta

Also me: Stan never believed Gideon was an actual psychic—even though he knew supernatural things were possible, and even though everyone in Gravity Falls was against him, Stan always insisted he absolutely knew Gideon was a fraud.  Why was he so certain?

Gideon always called him “Stanford.”

Anyone with real mind-reading powers would’ve known that was actually his brother’s name, and he was living under a false identity

I tried watching the video and the guy is just cringey as shit. This little shitstain says that she “endangered the whole family by not breaking up with Gideon herself.” And that should tell younall you need to know. But in case you wanted more, his “about my channel” video says that he enjoys arguing, and he makes video essays to argue with people. so….yeah.

Sorry. But except for some points in the series that were obviously comedic and he fails to recognize that, he is right about almost everything.

Don’t get me wrong I love Mabel. But her character arc left her in a TERRIBLE place. And an actual apology would have done wonders. Instead we’re supposed to ignore that she willingly ignored the suffering of literally everyone she knew to stay in Mabeland with a fake dipper.

You’re making a lot of assumptions. Let’s say that an actual demon set up your ultimate fantasy inside your head. One so real that it’s basically heaven for you. And she had 0 interactions with the outside world, and had no idea everyone else was suffering. So the same would be true for you. Now, let’s also say that in this instance you are 12 and have no impulse control. you also missed the part where she suddenly snapped out of it and was no longer under the spell once dipper finally convinced her to leave. Suddenly she wasn’t so entranced by the place. Because_it_was_brainwashing.

Also, he says she directly caused the weirdmageddon. I’m sorry, I thought that was Bill. He disguised himself as someone Mabel could trust to know more about things, and told her he would fix it. Are we no longer blaming Bill?

Yeah, she’s kinda selfish. She’s literally 12 and her brain hasn’t finished developing. Not even close. Yeah, she should be apologizing more, but the lack of it doesn’t make her a bad person. Stan and Ford are 2 grown men who never learned to apologize.

He gets on a 12-year-old girl for teasing her brother? Seriously? That makes her a bad person? She never pushes it far enough that he cries or has a mental breakdown. They’re siblings and best friends. And by the end of the show, Dipper is a lot better at standing up for himself and teasing Mabel right back.

They spend the entire summer growing and maturing. She went off to get Unicorn hair to protect her family, and had a day-long anxiety attack to try to be a better person. And considering that unicorn hair is the only reason the Mystery Shack survived, she is also is the reason anyone survived weirdmageddon.

Follow up: I’ve met some truly awful 12-year-olds. A former friend’s younger cousin was one. He used to run up and try to punch me in the crotch. He was as dumb as a bag of hanmers and not quite as polite. So i taoed him to a metal pole and left him there. This is after asking his mother permission.

Oh yeah, and we also have no idea how long she was in there. Maybe she tried to escape for weeks without success. Maybe she didn’t. Maybe it was a slow process of whittling down her will. Could be she thought she had died and that she was in the afterlife.

I just see no reason to come down so hard on her. Like, lighten up, guys. She’s an outgoing young girl with a lot of love and a lot of personality. She fucks up. So does dipper. But the people close to her don’t seem to resent her. And Dipper, for one, doesn’t have a problem with expressing his didpleasure with people. He and Mabel fight, and not once does he bring up the flaws that the fandom seems to see in her. The standards seem to be way higher for her than for Dipper, or Soos, or Stan, an actual criminal.

I care a hell of a lot about this. Even more, I think, than I first thought. And I’d gladly defend most of the characters in GF….except Robbie. He straight up tried to hypnotize Wendy into being his girlfriend…on a cliff side, in a car. He was expecting sex. So, yeah. In conclusion, Mabel good, Robbie bad.

Yeah. I might also add that Mabel giving the rift to Blendin(bill) was an accident. she didn’t know it was bill. Bill knew he could manipulate her cause she doesn’t think logically like dipper would in the same situation. She thinks with her emotions. …And she was Vulnerable..

Plus I’ve had a sibling who teased me the same way Mabel does to dipper at the age of 12 and yeah I did feel self councious about it. But I never friggin demonized my brother for it cause I would get over it and knew well my bro wasnt abusive. Just a tad annoying. And even then I cared less about it.
